On this day, in 1930, the Mickey Mouse comic strip had its debut. Written by Walt Disney himself and drawn by Ub Iwerks, the earliest comics followed Mickey’s adventures, starting with his attempt to build his own aeroplane. By summer of that year, the Mickey Mouse comic had appeared in more than 40 different newspapers across the world.
