Harvard Business School established

One of the Premier Business Schools across the Globe, the Harvard Business School Alumni includes former US President George W. Bush, Sotheby's CEO Tad Smith, Henry Paulson the former CEO of Goldman Sachs and the like. On this day in 1908, the Harvard University's board of overseers voted in favour of establishing the Business school.

HBS was originally conceived as a school for diplomacy and government service on the model of the French Ecole des Sciences Politiques. The goal was an institution of higher learning that would offer a master of arts degree in the humanities field, with a major in business.

At its founding, the school accepted only male students. It was only in 1937, that the graduate college also accepted women.
